* We needed to extend the rental so I called but the agent could not give me an estimate saying my last 4 of credit card is wrong - I triple checked the card I used - I have it on email and there was no doubt I was giving him the right number. There was no other option except to come to the airport facility (60 miles away) to change the reservation. I tried a different card number which worked (probably used at some point to book a budget rental in the past but not this time) - the system seems seriously broken.
I wish I could give no stars. This particular location I know does the best they can but the budget company as a whole is the most horrifying way I have ever rented a car. I've been waiting here for such a long time here to return a car and retrieve another and because there is only one person that works for both Avis and budget I'm stuck waiting .
* Had to drive 60 miles with 2 tired kids (less than 5) so we could just extend the rental - something which could have easily been done over the phone or online hassle free.
* Agent says sorry I cannot do anything to help out - seriously??! I am trying to give you business but you dont want it??! Stunning
No apology or anything. Now when they refunded it almost 2 MONTHS LATER its only $300CAD with the exchange rate changing. So I still got screwed by them. NEVER EVER EVER rent from BUDGET
A few months ago I had taken a trip to Florida and rented via this budget rental location. first off, they were extremely pushy about the insurance with this constant “are you SURE its a really good idea blah blah blah” but I declined. When I went to get the car, I noticed it had a lot of stone chips in the paint that the lady did not write down, when I took pictures and showed her she said “oh I saw that when I was washing it” yet she never recorded any of it.
My experience with budget at Orlando, FL was beyond terrible. I picked up car at Kissimmee and had to drop off at Orlando International airport. Few examples for this rental:
A week later I get an email regarding damages to the vehicle and I began looking into it.
* Site says pickup offered but no pickup service is offered from the location - I had to take an uber to the pickup location even unsure at this point if this location existed - it is staffed by just one person and is inside a hotel.
It took me some time and debating to see if I should review Budget, but I feel like this situation needs to be heard.
Now while having the car (2017 Ford Mustang GT) it was perfect, not a problem.
A week goes by and $360CAD is deducted from my account from budget, when I look into the reason, they say the front windshield was cracked (I was 100% SURE it wasn’t) after calling and talking to a lady and asking for pictures she said there aren’t any, I just have to take there word. I rented a BRIGHT RED Ford Mustang GT, of course I took pictures EVERYWHERE; including dropping it off!I which clearly shows there was no crack. Budget didn’t care to ask for the pictures ONCE. This situation was escalated 3 times before the pictures were accepted and all I got was “based on the pictures we will refund your money”
Fantastic service. I picked up my vehicle from MCO, within first day car having starter issue. Jumped the car twice and requested an exchange. This location was the closest budget office. Showed up, explained the situation, the lady took care of me. No questions asked, no discussion of extra charge, she was happy to assist me to meet my need. I would use this location next time I return to Orlando.
* Location phone number does not work - gets to the general customer service helpdesk where an agent not at the location picks up.
* I talked to 3 different agents who gave me 3 different numbers to call since I requested pickup for the rental (I was about 4 miles away from the facility) - none of the numbers got me through to anyone and no one picked up the phone.
* No option to extend rental online - the option was grayed out.
* I attempted to call no less than 10 times in a 24hr period to get hold of someone who can confirm that I am indeed going to be pickedup - no one picked up the phone - why have a phone number even??!
Line was a bit long, but the staff behind the counter grew from 2 people to 5 and then things moved along. We had a very pleasant experience and we travel to Orlando about twice a year on average. Will use them again!
The problems started when I returned it. Dropped it off gave the keys back and was on my way.
DON'T DO IT! they only gouge there customers for more!!
I do not recommend budget to anyone ever.
